Global Indaba sponsors announced

The Association for Supply Chain Management and the Global Fund have pledged their support to the Indaba

People that Deliver (PtD) is pleased to announce that the Association for Supply Chain Management and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria will sponsor the Global Indaba, which will take place on 12 and 13 October, 2022 in Lusaka, Zambia.

PtD will host the Indaba alongside the International Association of Public Health Logisticians (IAPHL), Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Pharmaceutical Systems Africa and SAPICS.

Centring on the theme: human resources (HR) for supply chain management (SCM): the missing link to maximising supply chain performance, the Indaba promises to be the perfect environment to share the experiences and knowledge generated in this area in recent years. The programme will be organised along strands of the PtD Theory of Change – staffing, skills, working conditions and motivation – and through plenary sessions, panel discussions, presentations and workshops will showcase international and country-based applications of labour-market approaches. In addition, Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 October will be reserved for workshops.

Robert Muteeganda, supply chain specialist with The Global Fund said, “An adequately-skilled supply chain workforce is essential to achieving well-functioning supply chains. That’s why the Global Indaba will be so important: by bringing donors, partners and ministries of health together and sharing best practices we can work out how best to equip health workers with the managerial and leadership skills to ensure health supply chains run smoothly.”

Dan Schoenfeld, vice president of ASCM Foundation said, “The indaba is a great opportunity to advance key agendas, like professionalisation and the digitalisation of supply chains: this means bringing governments and development partners together with the private sector, who have so much to offer in terms of experience and expertise.”

More than 200 delegates are expected to attend the Indaba from government institutions, public and private sector health supply chain organisations, donor and multilateral organisations, professional associations, academic institutions, country registration bodies and non-governmental organisations.

Prospective participants can register for the early bird fee of USD 250 until 12 August while abstract submissions are also welcomed before 30 June; these should document the work of organisations or independent operations research, in line with the event sub themes to be considered for an oral or poster presentation and/or workshop at the PtD Global Indaba.
